Katie Taylor, first opened her eye in Bray, County Wicklow, on the 2nd of July 1986. In addition, Sarah is her elder sister, and Lee and Peter are her two older brothers.

Taylor defeated Belfast’s Alanna Audley in her maiden official female boxing contest at the National Stadium when she was 15 years old.

She also defeated Natasha Jonas of Great Britain 26–15 in her Olympic debut. Taylor made her pro debut on November 26, 2016, at the Wembley Arena in London, where she scored a third-round technical knockout (TKO).

Taylor fought in a few fights that were broadcast live on Sky Sports Box Office. Once as part of the undercard for Anthony Joshua vs. Wladimir Klitschko, and again as part of the undercard for Anthony Joshua vs. Éric Molina heavyweight world title battle.
