Eric Roberts, Julia Roberts’ brother, is putting an end to the rumors of a family conflict.
Rumors that the “Dark Knight” actor, 66, and the “Pretty Woman” star, 54, had a falling out arose from a major misunderstanding that occurred in 1990, according to the actor.
On Wednesday’s episode of the “Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef” podcast, Eric Roberts revealed, “Julia and I have always been fine.”
“I guess I was on a press tour for a movie a long time ago.” I have no idea what movie it was. And it was right around the time when ‘Pretty Woman’ was out.”
Eric, a well-known actor, recalls being bombarded with “a torrent of questions” about his Oscar-winning younger sister.
“‘Hey, pardon me,’ I said. Is it okay if we talk about me?’ “I think I was extremely humorous,” he said of the situation, regretting the fact that his joke didn’t go over well.
Everyone assumed he and Julia were feuding before he realized it.
“And then it’s like, ‘Oh, they’ve got a problem.’” ‘Oh my God, they’ve got a problem,’ Eric said. “And then all of a sudden, I have all of these problems with my sister that I don’t have with my sister”.
“Similarly, And they’re appearing all over the place. And I’m interrogated about them as if they’re major issues.”

Eric, the father of 31-year-old actress Emma Roberts, said he tried to avoid answering questions about his relationship with Julia by saying things like, “Oh, I wasn’t aware of that.”
Playing coy backfired, as many people assumed, “So now they’re keeping a secret” and “So Eric won’t talk about it.”

He described the pair’s relationship as that of an ordinary brother and sister, saying that the narrative “blew up and blew up and became all these things it wasn’t.”

He did, however, laud his sister’s parenting, describing her as a “wonderful mom.”

Eric previously confessed that his earlier substance misuse troubles hurt his relationships, particularly those with his sisters Julia, Lisa Roberts Gillan, 57, and Nancy Motes, who committed suicide in February 2014.
