Kai Greene

Kai Greene is one of America’s sharpest and most personable bodybuilders. In addition, he came into popularity as an artist, sculptor, and actor.

Early Life & Childhood

On July 12, 1975, a professional bodybuilder, Kai Greene was born in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. From the age of six, he was raised in foster care and residential treatment facilities in Brooklyn.

He struggled to find his place in the community and felt like an outsider for most of his adolescence. As a result, the future champion began behaving inappropriately in school.

He continued to transgress to the point that he faced expulsion from both his school and his foster family.

He began working on his body at the age of 13 in 1988, utilizing the gym as an outlet for his problems.

While his dream of being a Crypto Legend began many years ago, he took efforts to make it a reality in 2021 by pushing GRPFT/Grapefruit Coin. His brand has become the face of the project, and he has big ambitions for 2022.

Introduction to Body Building

Kai’s fast physical growth and development caught the attention of his seventh-grade English instructor, according to his web biography.

Kai, who was blessed with outstanding genetics, discovered that his physique developed far quicker than his friends his age.

His school conduct was troubling, and he was encouraged to engage in teen bodybuilding competitions as a means of expressing himself.

Early Career

Over the next five years, Kai competed in other unofficial teen bodybuilding shows. Kai won every competition he entered since he was larger and more developed than other teens his age.

Kai’s accomplishments continued as he reached the end of his youth. He obtained his Pro Card at the 1994 NGA American Nationals, a natural bodybuilding federation, at the age of 19.

This early success convinced him that he had a promising career in the sport. Kai aspired to become a bodybuilding legend.

After winning another trophy at the 1996 WNBF Pro Natural Worlds, Kai opted to fight in the NPC organization.

He was fully aware, however, that far larger athletes inhabited the NPC, and as a result, he quickly stepped up his game.

Kai resolved to spend the next year working on his physique. The young champion was driven to make a great comeback with a package that could compete at the big levels.

Greene began working out at Johnny Lats Gym in Brooklyn with personal trainer Jakob Panotas in 1996, where he became an ardent bodybuilder.

Greene participated in the National Physique Committee to gain entry into the IFBB (NPC). However, he believes that his performance at the NPC was uneven.

He won the 1999 NPC Team Universe event before taking a five-year break before capturing the 2004 NPC Team Universe championship.

This victory qualified him for an IFBB career when he began his professional bodybuilding career.

Break from Body Building

Kai’s first professional performance was in the World Championships in Slovakia in 1999. He ended in the fourth position, despite his dissatisfaction with his performance.

Kai took a four-year-long break from competing in bodybuilding events to establish himself in the IFBB.

He worked hard away from the gym to develop one of the world’s top physiques.

Comeback

Kai returned to the spotlight after a five-year absence in the 2005 New York Pro. The Predator, on the other hand, finished 14th.

Greene struggled over the next two years, appearing in only four performances and finishing in the top three only once. Despite this, he was adamant about building a name for himself and worked hard to improve his body.

After overcoming setbacks and achieving success at the end of 2007, the Predator was finally rewarded for his efforts.

Kai won his first professional bodybuilding competition at the age of 32, the 2007 Shawn Ray Colorado Pro/Am Classic. But he was only getting started.

Mr. Olympia & New York Pro

Kai began training with preparation coach George Farah in 2011, and that year he won the New York Pro Championship.

He missed the 2012 New York Pro to focus on Mr. Olympia since his third-place performance at Mr. Olympia in 2011 qualified him for the 2012 competition.

Kai finished second in Mr. Olympia in 2012, 2013, and 2014. Greene did not compete in 2015 due to unknown causes.

Greene requested and was granted a two-month extension on the registration period, but he too missed this deadline.

Kai won the Arnold Classic for the third time in 2016, having won it in 2009 and 2010. He has not raced since.

He turned down an outstanding opportunity to participate in that year’s Mr. Olympia without having to re-qualify in June 2017, but he rejected.

Visual Artist

Kai had a deep affinity for art and aspired to express himself in ways other than painting on canvas.

He started experimenting with other creative styles and began spreading his talent on the streets and subways. Kai rose to fame by standing in public, donning masks and costumes, and entertaining his fans around the United States.

The graphic art of The Predator drew a considerable following. As a result, he was requested to participate as a “guest poster” at a number of bodybuilding competitions.

During these guest appearances, Kai sported unusual apparel, focusing on his stance and outfit combinations to create his own painting style.

Documentaries

In 2009, Kai was asked about starring in a documentary about his preparation for that year’s Mr. Olympia.

This was Kai’s debut acting role, but the film ‘Generation Iron’ (2013) put him on the map.
The documentary ‘Generation Iron’ was largely recognized as the genuine followup to the famous documentary ‘Pumping Iron.’

It was the most popular documentary of 2013, and it stayed at the top for three weeks following its initial release.

Other Media Presence

Kai starred as a male stripper in the 2015 comedy film College Debts. Then, in November 2016, he headed to Guizhou, China, to begin filming Crazy Fist, a martial arts film set to be released in 2018.

During the film’s opening sequence, Kai portrays a villain who confronts the protagonist in an arena. Greene’s representation by The Gersh Agency was revealed in January 2017.

Greene portrayed Funshine in the second season of the Netflix series Stranger Things. He appeared in the Indian action thriller Pogaru in 2021.

He’s also the face of GRAPEFRUIT GRPFT, a gaming cryptocurrency that he promotes heavily on Twitter.

Nutrition & Diet

Kai tries to consume 1.5 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight to ensure optimal muscular growth.

His meals are made up of lean proteins, complex carbs, and healthy fats.

Kai bulks up by eating five meals each day in somewhat larger amounts. During his pre-contest training, he does, however, consume up to seven smaller meals.

When it comes to creating meals, the Predator allows himself one whenever he wants. He believes that cheat meals might aid in weight gain.

In order to keep his physique improving, he likes startling his body with these cheat meals.
