Andie MacDowell embraces her gray hair, and says “She is happier and she likes it”. She is celebrating her gray hair very loudly and proudly!
Andie MacDowell, the 64-years-old actress shares that her natural color is coming through and it was something she wanted to do for a while.
The actress who stopped coloring her hair after the pandemic told the media that she loves her new look. She adds that she was highly inspired by someone from the family.
“My sister’s full-on silver and she’s only 18 months older than me. I thought she looked so much more beautiful being silver. I was jealous,” she said
“During COVID, I could see the roots with my face and with my skin and my eyes, and I liked it. I felt that I would be happier. And I am happier. I really like it,” she said. “I’m 64, and this is the time of my life. Eventually, I’m going to be silver. And I wanted to have this experience of feeling what it is.”
Her embracing her natural hair color in this artificial and materialistic world is a classic example of being comfortable in her own skin. Dowell says,
“Your belly gets bigger as you get older too. And I’ve had three babies.I’m constantly having to work on loving that part of my body. It’s so hard.”
The actress says, her two daughters, 32-year-old actress Rainey Qualley and 27-year-old Margaret Qualley remind her not to be hard on herself. She shares her two daughters with her ex-husband Paul Qualley.
“If I ever say anything demeaning about myself, because I’ve taught them not to do that, they’ll say, ‘Why are you doing what you told us not to do?’”

The entertainer, whose new film Good Girl Jane debuted at the Tribeca Festival this month, says she’s attempting to acknowledge that her body has changed despite her dynamic way of life.
Regardless of whether you work out, and figure out constantly, I climb, I do yoga, I eat very solid — there’s just such a lot of you can do, she says.
She is at an age where she is going through menopause and it is also taking a lot of toll on her.
“Believe me, it gets even harder. Because after menopause, your hormones change, your shape changes. And I’ve got a very perceptive eye. So you see it. I will see it on other people, I’ll see it on myself.”
However, she says it’s a “constant day-to-day work” to be kinder to herself, she’s getting more fruitful every day. “Maturing is a ridiculously intimate instructor on loving yourself,” she says, “because you can’t stop it. It’s going to happen.”

Furthermore, in spite of the fact that fans and loved ones are cherishing her change, Her team didn’t see the value in that she settled on such a huge choice without their feedback.
“My managers had actually said to me, ‘It’s not time to go gray,’” Dowell said in a Vogue interview in 2021.
“And I said, ‘I think you’re wrong, and I’m going to be more powerful if I embrace where I am right now. It’s time because in two years I’m going to be 65. If I don’t do it now, I won’t have the chance to be salt and pepper. I always wanted to be salt and pepper!”
However, trying to make her team happy, she considered whether she could utilize wigs to attempt to conceal her grays.
“Once I did it, it was just so clear to me that my instincts were right because I’ve never felt more powerful,” she said. “I feel more honest. I feel like I’m not pretending. It feels like I’m embracing right where I am. It feels really comfortable. And in a lot of ways, I think it’s more striking on my face. I just feel like it suits me.”
Well hats off to her grace, in the end, she stood her ground and made her power move.
