Colt Brennan was a quarterback in the National Football League. He was drafted in the sixth round of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins after playing college football for the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors.

Colt was named preseason Offensive Player of the Year by the WAC. He had a 182.8 rating and completed 72.15 % of his passes during the regular season, which was the best in Division I-A.

The squad concluded the season 11-3, placing second in the WAC behind Boise State, at the Hawaii Bowl on December 24, 2006.

2007

On November 23, 2007, Colt broke the college career record by throwing five touchdown passes against then-No. 17 Boise State.

He was named a Heisman Finalist for the second year in a row, finishing in third place. June Jones, the coach of the Hawaii Warriors, resigned following the Sugar Bowl.

Professional Career

Washington Redskins

The Washington Redskins selected Colt in the sixth round (186th overall) in the 2008 NFL Draft. On July 14, 2008, he signed a four-year contract worth $1.8 million.

On August 3, he made his NFL debut against the Indianapolis Colts. Colt went 36-for-53 for 411 yards and three touchdowns in the 2008 preseason, with no interceptions.

Hartford Colonials

On June 3, 2011, Colt joined the Hartford Colonials of the United Football League for the 2011 season.

The Colonials’ operations were halted by the league on August 10, 2011. He was not selected by any of the four remaining UFL teams in a dispersal draft held on August 15, 2011.

Saskatchewan Roughriders

On February 28, 2012, Colt signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League. Colt became expendable once the Saskatchewan Roughriders signed former J.T. O’Sullivan. As a result, on June 11, 2012, he was freed.

Los Angeles Kiss

On October 29, 2013, Colt was assigned to the Los Angeles Kiss of the Arena Football League.

On March 8, 2014, he was cut by the Los Angeles Kiss after being diagnosed with brain damage sustained in a 2010 vehicle accident.
