Early Life

León

Yarbrough first mentioned Leon as being on loan while with Pachuca. During his loan period, he only participated in the Copa MX Apertura match against Dorados de Sinaloa.

He then began the game for the first time in the 2013 Clausura competition.

William transferred to Leon as the starting goalkeeper at the end of the season, where he helped his team win two Liga MX championships.

He was then the Liga MX goalkeeper with the most saves and clean sheets. The smooth ride, however, experienced a hiccup in 2018 when Leon purchased Rodolfo Cota.

He made a handful of appearances after that: four matches in 2018 and two in 2019.

International Career

William Yarbrough is qualified to play for both the Mexican and American teams since, as we all know, he holds dual citizenship. William’s first call-up for his international career was with the Mexico national under-20 football team.

William chose the United States national team at the time while keeping the Mexican Federation’s offer modest. He did, however, make his national team debut for the Americans in 2015 against Denmark while sitting on the bench.

Following his debut, Nick Rimando was Nick Rimando’s replacement during the match against Switzerland. He then made an appearance in the match against Mexico and New Zealand.

In fact, many people questioned why the team shifted Yarbrough from MX to MLS. Yarbrough had said it was his choice, though, after opening up.

So, when the desire to play for MLS first crossed his mind or heart, he wanted to pursue it. Since the MLS started, he has been watching four to five games every weekend.
