Curtis McElhinney, a Former NHL goalkeeper is a native of Canada, Before joining the Tampa Bay Lightning.

McElhinney played for both the Quad City Flames and the Calgary Flames in the 2007–2008 season. He participated in the whole 2008–2009 NHL season with the Calgary Flames. He was Kiprusoff’s replacement.

Trades, and 2009-2011 Season

He won his first NHL game in the fourteenth contest of the campaign. He agreed to a two-year contract with the Calgary Flames before the 2009–2010 season.

Finally, the Flames traded him to the Ducks on March 3, 2010. He was then traded by the Ducks to the Tampa Bay Lightning on February 24, 2011.

The Ottawa Senators later acquired him on February 28, 2011.McElhinney and the Phoenix Coyotes agreed to a two-way, one-year deal on July 4, 2011.

2012-2013 Season

He was dealt by the Phoenix Coyotes to the Columbus Blue Jackets on February 22, 2012. In the second round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, the Ottawa Senators chose Vermette.

McElhinney played with the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League, an affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets, for the whole season.
