David John LeMahieu was born on July 13th, 1988 in Visalia, California, the United States. During his middle- school he settled in Wisconsin. His parents name is Tom LeMahieu and Joan LeMahieu. Eventually, they moved in Michigan.

DJ joined Louisiana State University to pursue collegiate baseball. Moreover, he was an exceptional player and was a great addition to the LSU Tigers. There he played for two seasons before being selected in the 2009 MLB Draft by Chicago Cubs.

How did DJ LeMahieu start his Professional Career?

After his high school graduation, DJ attended Louisiana State University, where he began playing for the LSU Tigers. The MLB player also won the MVP award as a Harwich Mariner in the Cape Cod Baseball League.

Moreover, he helped the Mariners win the Cape Cod League for the first time in 21 years. As he was a sophomore, Collegiate Baseball named DJ pre-season All-American.

After his second year at LSU, he decided to enter the 2009 MLB Draft. To begin with, he played in the minor league for teams like Peoria Chiefs, Daytona Cubs, and Tennessee Smokies. After that, he was upgraded to the major leagues as a substitute batter.

LeMahieu did make a major comeback to the major league in the year 2011 before being traded off to the Colorado Rockies.

First of all, he began playing in the minors. However, he was called in to play in the majors when the Rockies’ players were  badly injured. DJ displayed his true potential in the game against Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers.

Furthermore, he has received three Golden Glove awards in 2014, 2017, and 2018. In addition, he had two All-Star selection while he played for the Colorado team.

DJ took part in the 2017 MLB All-Star Game and he has also won the Fielding Bible Award.

Likewise, LeMahieu received three Wilson Defensive Player of the Year Award for his extraordinary defensive skills. Then after that he  signed a two year deal with the Yankees.

The contract is worthiness of $24 million that would pay DJ $12 million per year.

Further, he earned his first ever Player of the Week and June AL Player of the Month Award. DJ also helped the New York team to American League’s East Division title.
