In order to qualify for the 2012 Olympics, Ryota had to defeat Algerian Abdelmalek Rahou at the ExCel in London. This victory marked a memorable chapter in Ryota’s teen boxing career.
Similar to this, Murata won the gold medals by defeating Esquiva Falcao 14-13.
After dominating the opposition in the quarterfinal of the Summer Olympics of 1986, Ryota became the first person to win the gold medal for their country aside from Florentino.
