The surgeon discovered an abnormal vein in her skull during the surgery, which was supposed to last six hours.

According to the doctors, she had a greater than 50% chance of losing her hearing and possibly her facial function.

Thankfully, everything went well, even though it took longer than expected, and Matthew was there for Kelly throughout her recovery.
