NHL- Draft 2014
He was selected by the Buffalo Sabres with the number 31 pick in round two of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
However, in order to make room for Evander Kane, Zach Bogosian, and Jason Kasdorf, the Sabres waived Lemieux to the Winnipeg Jets in February 2015 along with Tyler Myers, Joel Armia, and Drew Stafford.
After a while, it was revealed that Lemieux insisted on being traded by the Sabres to the Jets on a three-year deal.
He also joined the Windsor Spitfires in the interim in support of Anthony Stefano. In the 2015–16 season, he led the Spitfires with 34 goals and 62 points.

When the Jets asked Lemieux to play against the Minnesota Wild in October 2017, he was still working hard to make his proper NHL debut.
However, he defeated Tyler Myers in his first victory on October 29 against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Brendan played for the Jets up until February 2019, when they waived him and gave him to the New York Rangers. Additionally, he defeated the Montreal Canadiens with the team.
