Early Life & Family

Christian Harris, an NFL player, was born on January 16, 2001, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Ramona and Jefferson Harris.

The family has a strong athletic background. Jefferson was a football player at Louisiana Tech. Christian’s brother, Tylor Harris, also plays football.

Tylor, Christian’s older brother, graduated in 2012 from Episcopal High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In high school, Tylor competed in the discus throw, shot put, and track and field.

High School Career

Unlike Tylor, who attended Episcopal School, Christian chose to attend University Lab on the LSU campus.

Residents of Baton Rouge anticipate that the city’s top athletes will remain in Baton Rouge to represent the Tigers.

That only gets worse when they dress in the shadows of Tiger Stadium. But there was more to Christian’s story.

For University Lab, Christian played wide receiver and defensive back, but it quickly became clear that he was better suited to play linebacker.

Christian had committed to playing college football at Texas A&M before transferring to the University of Alabama.

College Career

When Harris enrolled at Alabama in 2019 as a true freshman, he was a linebacker even though he had not played the position in high school.

He started the first 12 games of the season as a starter, made 63 tackles, and was named Freshman All-SEC. Harris came back as the starter in 2020 for his sophomore year.

Scouting Report

At the NFL Scouting Combine, where he met with a number of teams, including the Pittsburgh Steelers, Harris performed admirably. Additionally, based on test results, he had a 9.05 Relative Athletic Score, which is an analytics rating.

With 79 tackles, 5.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles, Harris had his best year yet in 2021 as a key member of one of the best defenses in the nation.
