Professional Career
Brendan entered the world of professional curling in 2012 after an impressive junior career.
At the 2012 Red Deer Curling Classic, Brendan played in a World Curling Tour (WCT) competition for the first time in the senior division.
Likely, the University of Alberta curler and his teammates did an excellent job, easily winning the competition.
The subsequent tournaments saw them perform poorly due to terrible luck. They lost 1-4, especially in the grand slam competitions.
When they won the Spruce Grove Cashspiel, the second WCT competition of the year, the bad luck came to an end.
After the competition, Lizmore, one of Brendan’s teammates, left the team to form his own.
Recent Career
Brendan and his teammates weren’t depressed after the Brier loss; instead, they were motivated to win some games, which they did.
They won the Red Deer Curling Classic and the Medicine Hat Charity Classic toward the end of 2017.
After all of their victories, Team Bottcher was not going to stop, and they won their first-ever Grand Slam tournament at the Meridian Canadian Open.
They won the Boston Pizza Cup again in 2020, securing a spot in the Brier. They performed admirably at the Brier, but they lost the final match.
Coaching
At the 2017 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship, Bottcher served as the coach for the Spanish Mixed Doubles Team of Irantzu Garca and Gontzal Garca. Likely, with a 4-2 record, the team made the playoffs and ultimately placed thirteenth.
