Early Life

On November 24, 1997, Ricky Aguayo was born in Montverde, Florida. He is currently 24 years old. Ricky’s exact ethnicity is unknown, but he is an American by nationality.

Ricky is also Roberto Aguayo Sr. and Martina Aguayo’s youngest child.

Aguayo Sr. participated in both football and soccer during his high school years. Ricky claims that his father is where he learned to be competitive.

To kick the ball accurately and forcefully, the kicker needs a strong core and a fit body. Ricky spent more time in the gym to strengthen his legs and shed some weight after attending FSU.

High School Career

Ricky enrolled at Monteverde Academy first. He then joined IMG Academy after they ended the football program. IMG has recently become a high school football recruiting powerhouse for colleges.

In 57 kickoffs during his senior year, Ricky made 35 touchbacks while making 3 field goals and 41 PATs. Later, after leading IMG to a 9-0 regular-season record, he was named special teams MVP.

Ricky, a senior in high school, was ranked as the fourth-best kicker in the nation by ESPN. He received a football scholarship offer from Florida State University.

Ricky immediately rose to the top of the running to succeed his brother after enrolling at FSU in January.

He represented Team Highlight in the Under Armour All-American game as well. He completed 29 yards of passes during the game.

College Career

Ricky received the ESPN Freshman All-American honor during his first year. He also received Honorable Mention All-ACC recognition.

Ricky had a regular-season field goal percentage of 19–26. Only He scored 6-6 6-6 on-field goals in his first game for Florida State against the Rebels.

Later, his six field goals in a single game set a record for college debuts across the country and were the most field goals ever made by FSU. Without him, this simply could not have happened. It was a moment that broke records.

Aguayo also experienced some difficult times with the group. He had a losing record against the Cardinals on Saturday, going 0-3 against Louisville.

Aguayo finished the 2016 season with 73.1%, placing him 63rd out of 100 kickers who had enough attempts to qualify in the FBS.

He tied for tenth place in the FBS with an 85.7% success rate while kicking 18-21 field goals in his sophomore season. Against Wake Forest, he also recorded a season-high 51 yards.

Undrafted

The National Football League is the primary objective for high school and college football players. The NFL offers significantly better recognition, money, and playing opportunities than other football leagues.

So, the majority of players desire to play in the NFL. Not everyone, however, was as fortunate as only 3.8 draft-eligible D I athletes were selected in the 2019 NFL draft.

Ricky Aguayo also had a bad draft in the 2020 NFL draft. Despite having a college degree, he sadly wasn’t able to qualify for the 2020 draft.

Furthermore, because only one of FSU’s players was selected, it was an unfavorable draft for them.

Controversies

Ricky got into a fight with members of the FSU fraternity on December 2, 2016. Out of three field goal attempts against the Gators, Ricky missed two of them.

Despite the fact that they won 33-31, some people were upset by his miss.

Later, Ricky was punched by fraternity members who charged him. He was currently traveling to his fraternity house.

Ricky reported the incident to the Tallahassee Police Department after some fraternity members made fun of his performance during the game.

Despite having ripped shirts and a swollen face, Ricky declined medical care. Additionally, he did not file any complaints against them. He was reportedly drinking before the incident, according to police.

Turtle Killing

Later, charges of killing the turtle known as Turtle and Burglary were brought against Ricky and his teammate Ryan Izzo. By chance, the turtles belonged to individuals from a fraternity that fought him.

The turtle’s body was reportedly torn in half by the police. One of the fraternity members claimed that after being awakened by joyful chants, he saw one footballer holding the turtle.

The pet’s killing generated so much controversy that PETA and a Twitter protest were also involved.

The pet owner didn’t file any cases, though. Later, due to a lack of evidence, Ricky was also not charged.

Due to NCAA regulations, Ricky was not permitted to profit from the use of his name, likeness, or image while he was a college student.

Despite the fact that Ricky can now profit financially from his name, he has not entered into any endorsement or sponsorship agreements with any companies.
