Rick Story, full named Rick Thomas Story is a veteran mixed martial fighter holding American nationality.

Pat, who’d open a new training facility since Rick was eager to train full-time, was introduced to Rick by Dave. Luckily, one week before he received his college diploma, Pat invited Story to join his battle team.

Transition to UFC

For Rick, MMA and wrestling were just activities that kept him busy and occasionally provided enjoyment. When it comes to UFC, it turned into a method to keep active and accept challenges as they presented themselves.

Rick stated that he enjoyed the concept of being prepared for UFC fights and that once an opportunity is missed, it cannot be gained back.

Inside the octagon, Story strikes his opponent hard. Rick also mentioned that he engaged in nine bouts over nine months while waiting for a significant event.

When nobody was prepared to challenge Rick, his trainer Pat assisted him to advance to the UFC.

When Story’s UFC opportunity eventually materialized, he quickly agreed to a four-fight contract.

On June 13, 2009, in Germany, at UFC 99 Franklin versus Silva, the aspiring fighter Rick made his professional debut. He competed against John Hathaway in his debut match.

Despite losing his first fight by unanimous decision, Rick defeated Brian Foster at UFC 103 by submission with an arm-triangle choke.

Additionally, Rick was given accolades for his fights and submissions, respectively. Additionally, on January 11, 2010, at Ufc Night 20, Story prevailed over Jesse Lennox.

After the initial agreement, UFC made a critical choice and re-signed Story to a four-fight contract.

Rick returned to the ring on the 29th of May, 2016, at Ufc Night 88, after an 18-month absence, he defeated Tarec Saffiedine by unanimous decision.

Following his fight with Saffiedine, Story took against Donald Cerrone at UFC 202 on Aug 20, 2016, where he was defeated by a technical knockout.

Rick took a two-year break from competing after his defeat to Donald Cerrone. Story thought about joining the fire department and helping his neighborhood during that time.

The ambitious boxer announced an announcement about his contract with PFL on March 12. He received a unanimous decision victory over Yuri Villefort.

He faced Carlton Minus once more in August 2018, and this time, he won by technical submission with a rear-naked choke. With a victory, Rick decided to retire.

On the 8th of November, 2018, Story formally declared his retirement from professional combat.
