College Career
Diakite moved to the class of 2015 after pledging to Virginia and redshirted his first college basketball season with Virginia in 2015-16, intending to physically prepare for college basketball and acclimatize to the collegiate lifestyle.
Similarly, Mamadi made his redshirt freshman debut on November 15th, 2016, scoring eight points and snagging four rebounds in a 72-32 win over St. Francis Brooklyn.
Further, Diakite had a season-high 12 points against East Carolina on December 6th.
Again, On February 3rd, 2018, Mamadi scored 12 points for the second time in as many games, this time against Syracuse in a 59-44 victory.

Withdrawal from the 2019 NBA Draft
Mamadi declared for the 2019 NBA draft after winning the National Championship. Mamadi, however, withdrew his name from the draft before the deadline in order to return to Virginia for his last season of eligibility.

Journey in Milwaukee Bucks
Diakite agreed to terms with the Milwaukee Bucks on a two-way deal on November 24th, 2020, after going undrafted in the 2020 NBA draft.
Further, Mamadi averaged 18.5 points, 10.3 rebounds, 2.1 blocks, and 2.1 assists in 27.7 minutes per game with Lakeland.
Again, Diakite signed a multi-year standard NBA deal with the Bucks on April 21st, 2021, after making 11 appearances.

On January 11st, 2022, Mamadi signed a 10-day deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Similarly, Diakite signed a second 10-day deal with the Thunder on January 21st.
