On February 9, 1987, Michael B. Jordan was born in Santa Ana, California, to Donna and Michael A. Jordan. In 2010, Howard University signed football player contracts with Jamila, his sister, and Khalid, his younger brother.
Before moving to Newark, New Jersey, Jordan’s family spent two years there. His mother works at Newark Arts High School, where he participated in basketball.
He also belonged to the Delta Pi Chapter Kudos of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa Inc. at Hillside High School in Hillside, New Jersey. This was under the supervision of Gwendolyn Watts.

Before pursuing an acting career, Jordan worked as a child model for several companies and brands, such as Modell’s sporting goods and Toys “R” Us.
He made his on-screen debut as a professional Actor in 1999 when he appeared in fleeting appearances in the television series The Sopranos and Cosby.
Jordan then played his first lead part in the 2001 film Hardball, which also starred Keanu Reeves. He gained greater notoriety in 2002 when he portrayed Wallace’s minor but significant role in the first season of HBO’s The Wire.

Jordan began playing quarterback Vince Howard in the N.B.C. Drama Friday Night Lights in 2009 while residing in an Austin apartment where the series was produced.
He made a cameo appearance as a high school football player who got into a fight and is now the target of a local mobster in the 2009 Burn Notice episode “Hot Spot.” Jordan was one of the 55 faces of the future in Nylon Magazine’s 2010 Young Hollywood Issue.
