A boogie wit da hoodie’s real name is Artist Julius Dubose. He was born on December 6, 1995, in The Bronx, New York, U.S. He also grew up in the place he was born along with his brothers. We have no more information about this parents and siblings that we can share.
A boogie wit da hoodie received his education from DeWitt Clinton High School. There he performed in cyphers at lunchtime. His rhymes he wrote himself in a large notebook, which he carried with him. He described his high school days in an interview with XXL:

Dubose began to rap at the age of 12. His major inspirations who had got him interested in rapping is Kanye West and 50 Cent. After graduation, he began to focus on his music career. During this time, he worked odd jobs- in construction and pizza delivery.

“I used to watch Paid in Full every day when I was like 12, 13, and then I started rapping and everybody would call me A Boogie [a character from the film]. And then the hoodie came along because I was wearing hoodies all the time. [People] started saying A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and it stuck. The only other rap name [I would have considered] is Artist, and that’s my real name (Artist J. Dubose). After a while, everybody will know me as Artist.”
Debose released his first song “Temporary” at the age of 19. After moving back to New York in 2015 to fully focus on his music career, he realised his first mixtape named Artist in February 2016.
On May 18, 2016, A boogie wit da hoodie collaborated with rapper Don Q and released a mixtape: Highbridge the Label: The Takeover Vol.1. As he was beginning to get recognized, he was signed into Atlantic records. He released his debut studio album, The Bigger Artist on On September 29, 2017. This album of his has several big names featured- Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Kodak Black, 21 Savage, PnB Rock, and YoungBoy Never Broke Again.
