Adam Harvey is an American chef who was part of season 12 of the Bravo TV show called Top Chef: Boston. He has worked I various restaurants in the USA before starting his own food business in Brooklyn, NY. He has talent but also is into controversies.
Adam Harvey and the tree poisoning scandal
Adam Harvey and his wife Eva had purchased last summer a row house in Seeling Street, Windsor Terrace for $1.5 million. The house was under renovation and solar panels have been installed. But Adam found that the sun was getting blocked by a seven-story silver maple tree in the neighbor’s backyard.
The tree was said to be 60 years old. He told the neighbor, a retired city teacher that the tree was dead and need to be cut. He even hired arborists and cut some limbs of the tree. He then sneaked into the neighbor’s house backyard and poisoned the tree due to which 60% of its leaves wilted. Witnessing neighbors informed the police and Adam was arrested, charged and released on bail.
Amid this incident, he closed down his Bar Salumi restaurant that he had opened just a couple of months ago.
Previous neighborhood issues
Adam Harvey is not new to such controversies. When he was opening his new restaurant he had tagged sidewalks and entrances to the subway station of Park Slope and Gowanus with his restaurant’s logo by means of a temporary paint which lasts for around a month. It did not go well with his neighbors.

His bio states that Adam Harvey was born and raised in New York. His grandfather was also a professional chef. His grandmother was Italian-American and influenced his cooking and learning. Adam Harvey and his career
Adam Harvey worked in some of the best restaurants in the USA. He commenced his career working with David Burke. He also had an experience of working at Oak Room at the Plaza Hotel and Bouley. Later he joined Danny Meyer and his longest tenure was with the Union Square Hospitality Group. Here, he first worked as sous chef at Union Square Café. He did a European trip and did catering to this legendary group. Adam also worked at both the Meat Hook and ABC Kitchen and got a varied and extensive know-how of cooking.
Adam opened a restaurant/butcher shop/coffee shop in Gowanus in the summer of 2016. It used to serve coffee and pastries and was a full-service restaurant. The customers could also purchase humanely raised meats from the butcher shop and fine cheese as well. It was initially named A&E Supply Co. and the name was later changed to Bar Salumi. He uses farmer’s market ingredients and embraces the cooking style which he learned from his dear grandparents.
He was on season 12 of the Top Chef show on Bravo TV and was eliminated in week 8.
