College Career 

For the Army Black Knights, Al played collegiate football. Al was a versatile player who also played defensive lineman, left tackle, and wide receiver.

The Philadelphia Eagles acquired Al to play defensive end after he participated in the NFL regional final combine.

During the preseason match between the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers, head coach Mike Tomlin of the Steelers saw Al. He was therefore added to the Steelers practice squad on August 31, 2014, eight days after the Eagles released him from their team.
