Who is Alexandra Guarnaschelli?

Alexandra Guarnaschelli is a renowned chef and executive chef at New York City’s Butter restaurant. She is also a television personality on the Food Network shows Chopped, Iron Chef America, All Star Family Cook-off, and The Best Thing I Ever Ate. In addition, she is also a host. She hosts Alex’s Day Off and The Cooking Loft on Food Network and Cooking Channel.

Alexandra Guarnaschelli was born in 1972. Her parents are cookbook editor Maria and John Guarnaschelli. There is not much information about her childhood, siblings.

Talking about her education, it is known that she graduated from Barnard College in 1991.

Her ethnicity is Italian and her nationality is American.

Career and Professional Life

Alexandra Guarnaschelli’s interest in cooking started with her mother Marie. As her mother was a cookbook editor Alexandra watched her mother test numerous recipes at home.

“My mother was always coaxing me from my ‘Barbie land’ under the dining room table to peel potatoes, knead bread or assemble a trifle. What else could a 7-year-old have wanted from life?”

Throughout her career, she has worked in several restaurants,  Guy Savoy’s La Butte Chaillot, Daniel Boulud, Patina, to name a few. The restaurants were located in France, New York, Los Angeles. She was the renowned executive chef at The Darby restaurant before it’s closing. Currently, she is an executive chef at Butter.

Alexandra has been in several competitions. She was a competitor on The Food Network’s Iron Chef America. She was crowned the winner in the show. Since then she has had guest appearances in  Nickelodeon TV show Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn. Also, she has been judging on Food Network’s competition show Food Network Challenge, Iron Chef Gauntlet, Beat Bobby Flay among others. She is also a star in the Food Network television show, Alex’s Day Off.

Romance and marriage

In spring she met Brandon Clark. She was teaching a fish class at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York. In the class, she shared tales of scary fish moments from her career. And Clark found her hilarious.

“I thought she was hilarious. Some people found her intimidating. I found her funny, playful, exciting and adorable.”

He was a personal injury lawyer in his father’s law office in Levittown, N.Y. But he was focused on changing his career. It gradually began when Brandon asked her for a part-time job in Butter.

After a cooking injury, Clark decided not to further his cooking career as cooking would mean he was at a greater risk. Clark also an amateur musician loved to play guitar and saxophone. As he was no longer in the cooking class, they realized they were no more a teacher and a student but a man and a woman.

Alexandra and Brandon Clark married on April 29, 2007, after he boldly proposed to heavily pregnant Alexandra. The couple was blessed with a daughter. They have named their beautiful daughter Ava.

Rumors and Divorce

There were several rumors that Brandon had been cheating with several women. Because of this, there were problems in their relationship. They got divorced in December 2015 after he admitted having affair with two women.

The talented chef stands 5 feet 1 inch (1.55m) tall and weighs around 74kg. She has silky brown hair with equally brown eyes. Her waist size, bra size, and hip size are 35 in, 39 in and 36 in respectively. Her shoe size has not been released yet.
