American TV personality Frank Fritz was born on 15 December 1962 in a middle-class family in Davenport, Iowa. Some websites have put his date of birth as 11 October 1965. And his exact age is undetermined. His mother was a babysitter while his father had a job in a dispensary.

His upbringing was mainly in Ohio. He has an older sister. He attended a local school in Ohio. He stopped at high school and did not go in for college studies.

Talking about his childhood days, Frank Fritz had once said:

“I’ve been into motorcycles since I was a little kid. I started out on mini-bikes and then I went to dirt bikes and then to street bikes. I bought a low rider in 1979 when I was a sophomore in high school and it was $3999. It was $4100 brand new and I think a brand new Cadillac was $6500 back then. My mom and dad almost tripped out because it was a $4100 dollar motorcycle, I mean that’s crazy. I drove a $200 dollar car. I was pretty much destined with what I wanted to do.”

He owns around 70-80 motorcycles. And this was before the show on History channel began. He is also proud of HIS Davenport roots.

Frank Fritz’s career

The first job that Frank Fritz took was that of a safety and fire inspector. Since his childhood days, Frank Fritz always had a passion to pick and collect junks and antiques. He used to pick up rocks when small and collect them. He co-founded the antique shop called ‘Antique Archeology’ at Le Claire, Iowa with his partner Mike Wolfe.

He had Mike have traveled to 200 cities over the whole of the US. They remain on the lookout for antique pieces and vintage articles. They then get these items to their Iowa shop to sell them. They have a special passion for two-wheeled machines.

In 2010, Frank got a lifetime’s opportunity to host a show called ‘American Pickers’ on History Channel. Due to this, the partners got recognition and fame as well. The show has got very popular and is highly-rated. On the show, they continue with their job of picking up rare antiques.

In one season, Frank gets # 300k for the show. There are also bonuses coming based on the show’s popularity. The show also has boosted their sales. The premiere show itself had 3.7 million watchers.
