Archie Griffin | Early Life, Family, and Education
The legendary NFL player Archie Mason Griffin was born in Columbus, Ohio, on August 21, 1954. He was the middle child born to James Griffin, the father, and Margaret Monroe Griffin (mother).
Archie comes from a big family with six brothers and a sister. Jimmy, Larry, Daryle, Duncan, Raymond, and Keith are his brother whereas Crystal is his sole sibling.
It would seem that athleticism ran in the family because all four of Archie’s brothers played collegiate football, and two of them went on to play in the NFL.

On the other side, Archie’s father struggled to support such a large family. Griffin’s father believed that the best gift he could give his children was a good education, so he worked long and hard hours to provide for his family.
He used to work three jobs at the same time: driving a sanitation truck during the day, cleaning a school at night, and working at a steel company.
Griffin’s family is now a part of the collegiate football legacy at Ohio State University, where Archie and his siblings have achieved considerable success.

Archie went to Eastmoor High School in Columbus and wanted to play football for the school. However, the coach didn’t consider him a football player at the time because he was small and overweight.
