Avery Bradley is a well-known shooting guard in the NBA. Bradley has played for nine different clubs during his 12-year NBA career. He is most well-known, though, for his time while playing with the Boston Celtics.

Avery, though, was the family’s mischievous youngster. He would play basketball using garbage cans as a goal instead of cleaning the kitchen, driving her mother crazy each time.

But sadly, on September 10, 2013, her mother passed away at the age of 46. She had a severe stroke while participating in Zumba and spent many days in the hospital. Avery was by his mother’s side till she passed away.

Bradley tested out for Ward’s AAU team in the seventh grade. He wasn’t very good at the time, but he was quite defensive. He was excellent on defense but was unable to score.

Bradley enrolled at the Austin campus of the University of Texas. Because he was a major T. J. Ford fan growing up in Arlington, he was lured to the Texas Longhorns basketball team.

Bradley also established himself as one of the best defenders in the nation with 11.6 points per game average for the Longhorns in 2009–2010.

Later, he received honorable mention and all-Big 12 accolades for the Big 12 All-Rookie Team.

Bradley also gave notice for the NBA draft in April 2010, which was before his final three years of NCAA eligibility.

Professional Life and Career

Bradley was selected by the Boston Celtics with the 19th overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft. On July 2, 2010, he committed to the Celtics on a rookie deal.

Bradley joined a Celtics squad but was later sent to the Maine Red Claws of the NBA Development League. After one of their players suffered a spinal cord injury, the Boston Celtics phoned him.

Later, he played for the Houston Rockets, Miami Heat, Memphis Grizzlies, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, and Detroit Pistons. He is a member of the Los Angeles Lakers right now.
