“My career constantly brings me out on the road. When I’m traveling, the days are full. Touring, meetings, interviews, filming.

What I look forward to most, when all of this is done, is going out to eat at a nice restaurant.

“For me, it’s rewarding. I am passionate about food and David is a perfect partner.”

The Grutman’s Groot Hospitality is sending off all the employees from the restaurant. It will focus its menu on prime cuts and arrangements of Wagyu hamburger and Korean grill.

There will be a sushi menu and an Omakase bar, and also other Japanese-inspired dishes. The Rockwell Group designed the restaurant.

Grutman says,

“I wanted to do something that hybridized a steakhouse and a high-end sushi restaurant in a new way,”

“After a few conversations, it became clear: this was going to be it, I’m excited, it’s unlike anything we’ve done at Groot Hospitality.”

A press release confirms the Rockwell Group plans the restaurant, Gekkō, which implies moonlight in Japanese,

“anchoring the aesthetic in a luxurious-yet-contemporary application of graphic wall coverings, jewel tones, golden light, and natural wood accents,”
