Rebecca Lynn Becky Hammon popular as Becky Hammon was born on 11th  March 1977, in the United States in the city of South Dakota called Rapid City. Born to parents Bev and Martin Hammon, she grew up with her brother, Matt Hammon, and a sister, Gina Hammon.

As a junior, Becky played basketball where she was given a name as South Dakota Miss Basketball.  As she attended, Stevens High School which is located in Rapid City, South Dakota. During her senior year, she received 26 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 steals per game. Further, she received a vote for the South Dakota Player of the Year. On November 12, 2004, she was also chosen in the Colorado State University Sports Hall of Fame.

Becky Hammon’s Career

Development of Becky Hammon’s athlete career began from her years in schools and colleges. On May 12, 1999, Hammon joined the New York Liberty signing to the WNBA. In 2004, she went with the Colorado Chill (a new team in the NWBL). But due to her anterior cruciate ligament injury in her right knee, she could play only two games. Her playing style and her passion for playing made her famous among fans of Liberty.

The following year, she was able to score 2,000th WNBA career points. On April 4, 2007, Hammon was selected for the second overall first-round pick in WNBA Draft. Furthermore, she was traded to the Silver Stars, along with a second-round draft pick in the 2008 draft. Under, WNBA she played for San Antonio Stars. She played for Russian National Team in 2008 and also for Olympics in 2012.

Becky Hammon is the first-ever female head coach in the NBA’s Summer League. Also, she is a second female assistant in the entire history of the NBA. To become the first full-time woman coach in 2014, she joined the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs. On July 3, 2015, she became the first-ever female head coach. Becky was able to win the NWBL Championship with the Colorado Chill in 2005 and named All WNBA 2nd Team. The following year, she was entitled to NWBL MVP and won 2nd NWBL Championship with the Colorado Chill. With CSKA in 2007, she received World League Championship.

Hitting 38 of 42 attempts in the allotted 60 seconds, she made a record in the Guinness World Record as the Most-Free Throws Made in a Minute (women’s category). It was on February 16, 2008, at the NBA All-Star Jam Session. In the same year, she also won the Cup of Russia with CSK and Haier Shooting Stars Competition. Back in 2015, she received for NBA Summer League Championship coaching the San Antonio Spurs Summer League Team.
