Francesca Capaldi was born on 8th June 2004 in La Jolla, California, USA. This Carlsbad girl was noticed and signed up by a local casting agent named Paloma Jackson when she was just 8 months old.
The story goes that in 2005 once when her Italian parents, Anthony (father working as an international salesperson) and Gina (a local pharmaceutical sales representative) Capaldi were dining at a San Marcos Restaurant, their infant daughter Francesca was with them.
A casting agent of Jet Set Models saw the red hairs of the child and approached the parents. She asked Gina whether the child’s hairs were natural. Gina herself has red hairs. She was surprised and in turn, asked the agent:
“Do you really think I’d dye my baby’s hair?”
The start of Francesca Capaldi’s career
Her parents signed with the agent thinking that the money coming out of the assignments could be used for Francesca’s college fund. Just 5 months after that, Francesca landed her first modeling job. Later she also starred in an advertisement for baby toys and costumes.
At the age of 4 years, Francesca got to play the daughter of redhead actress, Marcia Cross in a Mott’s apple juice commercial. When she was just 5-6 years old, Francesca was quite comfortable with acting and camera and wanted to take it up as her career. Her parents had to give in to her persistence.
Francesca works at LA but stays at Carlsbad. Her parents want her to complete her schooling at Carlsbad where she also has her friend circle. But they take her to LA whenever there is an opportunity for acting or even for an audition. Talking about it, Gina says:
“Sometimes it means a 7-hour round-trip to L.A. for a five-minute audition. Sometimes they’ll read a scene 11 or 12 times. But she never gets tired of it. And after filming for 9-1/2 hours, she still wants hang out with the camera guys and visit the props department. She loves it.”

Francesca Capaldi’s career takes off
Francesca’s parents are very supportive of her dream of entering the showbiz. Francesca herself has turned out to be a very mature, courteous, and understanding girl. In one interview, listen to what Francesca had said. She told Carlsbad Monday:
“I love everything about acting. It makes me happy. Some people just want to be famous. I don’t want to be famous. I just want to act.”
At the age of 7 years, Francesca bagged the role of Chloe James in the Disney series titled ‘Dog with a blog’. Francesca gets along with her co-stars. Besides acting, Francesca also learns various forms of dance and sewing. She has also lent her voice for a character in ‘The Peanuts movie’. Her fans have been nicknamed as ‘Capaldians’.
Francesca enjoys it all but is concerned about the less pleasant side of her stardom. She has been bullied online, has had fake accounts created on her name and gets mobbed on field trips or at play. Her mother has always maintained that Francesca is a normal girl and not a rich spoilt brat.
