Chris Stapleton in 2001 moved to Nashville and began his career in music there. He signed with Sea Gayle Music publishing house and wrote songs for them. He joined the bluegrass group named The Steeldivers in 2007. They had two hit records which were on the top of the charts and in 2010, Chris let the group.
He founded a band called The Jompson Brothers the same year. He was the vocalist and the guitarist was Greg McKee. JT Cure was the bassist and the drummer was Bard McNamee. They did a local touring until 2013 when they opened for the band Zac Brown Band. The self-titled album saw the light of the day in 2010.
In 2013, Chris Stapleton signed solo with Mercury Nashville. His first single had a fair performance. He started getting offers for live concerts and to perform at events mostly with his now-wife Morgane. His solo album was out in 2015. He also did tours for promotions. He won several awards in 2015 for this album which he said was inspired by the road trip he took after his father expired in the year 2013.
