He was born on November 7, 1957, in New York City, USA. He was born as Christopher Anton Knight to father Edward Knight, an actor while the identity of his mother is not shared publicly. He has three siblings- younger brother David Knight, older brother Mark Knight and younger sister Lisa Knight.
He attended El Camino Real Charter High School and then joined the University of California and attended classes The Actors Workshop as well as Hollywood Professional School.

His father took him and his older brother to audition for roles and commercials as a means to pay for their college fees. Knight made his appearance in commercials for Toyota, Tide, and Cheerios.
He rose to fame after appearing in The Brady Bunch (1969-1974) as Peter Brady.
His notable films include in Just You and Me, Kid (1979) and TV series The Brady Kids (1972), The Brady Bunch Hour (1976-1977), CHiPs (1978), Joe’s World (1979-1980), The Brady Girls Get Married (1981), The Love Boat (1984), Nowhere (1997), Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star (2003), The Lords of Salem (2012), etc. He has also starred in TV series That ’70s Show (2006), The Bold and the Beautiful (2010, 2018), A Very Brady Renovation (2019).
