American player Danny Cipriani survived the playing season with no harm but just a month ago Danny had an off-field injury. He had hurt his ankle when he was along with a toddler.
Danny tweeted about the incident. Danny wrote:

“Been fortunate to go all season without an injury. Played tag with 2 year old. Rolled my ankle! Must be getting old”

This is not the first time that Danny had suffered such a trauma. In 2013, Danny was hit by a double-decker bus in Leeds when he was bar-hopping.

Danny is 30 years old and was born on 2 November 1987. His place of birth is Rockhampton in London. His parents are Jay and Anne Cipriani. Information on his siblings is lacking. His father is Afro-Trinidadian and Italian while his mother is English. His parents separated when he was born.

He studied at the Wimbledon College Prep School, Donhead. After gaining a scholarship for Junior House of The Oratory School near Reading, he polished his skills at the rugby game. Danny later joined Whitgift School which is located in Croydon. For this admission, he had given a common entrance exam and emerged successful in it.

Danny was good at most of the sports during his school and college days. Hence, he played various games at the local clubs. He played football at the junior level for Queen Park Rangers and had youth terms from Reading Football Club. During his school days, he had played cricket for Oxfordshire and Berkshire. The Surrey County Cricket Club invited him to join as a batsman.

He has also played squash at the county level. His first experience at rugby play was for the Rosslyn Park. Roehampton and it was here that he developed his passion for the game which would later give him fame.

Danny joined Wasps Academy in 2003. He was 17 when he first played against Bristol for the Powergen Cup. He became full-time with this Academy in the 2006-2007 season. He had regular appearances for the club in 2007. The same year the Wasps had won the 2007 Heineken Cup Final.

Danny played on several different positions for the Wasps before settling for the fly-half position. During Danny’s tenure as fly0half, Wasps had won the game. He is quite agile in that position.

Danny had a fight with his international team-mate Josh Lewsey on the training ground. He suffered a bloody nose and cut lip. He also had an ankle fracture in 2008 and was out of action for some time.

His return to Wasps

After some months of rest, Danny returned in October 2008. His recovery was remarkable and everyone was surprised at his progress. His sprint coach Margot Wells was also all praise for him and said:

“He will return stronger in the tackle, fitter and faster than before.”

He came in good form but had poor displays and was dropped from the team. His relationship with model Kelly Brook was supposed to be the reason that he was not giving his full to the game. In 2009-10, he had a good start but another injury and he was unable to play further at the Autumn Internationals.

After the 2010 match, he was traded off to Melbourne Rebels. He trained with several teams also underwent ‘altitude training’. He was the first England international rugby player to be with the Australian team.

Danny and his off-field controversies

Danny had demonstrated some off-field misbehavior which upset the Rebels management. He was also fined for his wrong actions. He was also dropped from the team for two matches against South Africa. Additionally, his performance was not up to the mark. He was also caught for drink-driving.

The team switch

He began a 3-years contract with the Sale Sharks in 2013. In 2016, he rejoined the London Wasps. In 2018, he joined Gloucester Rugby.

Danny and his personal life-girlfriend, wife, children

Danny has been labeled a love rat due to his cheating with his girlfriends. In 2007, he was dating Monica Irimia. Glamor model Larissa Summers came in and stated that she had slept with Danny. Monica and Danny split. Danny then began dating Kelly Brook. Monica warned her about Danny thus:

“He doesn’t want a steady relationship. He just wants-dot dot dot-let’s put it that way! Monica’s mom Margit also made a statement in 2013:

“Danny can never be faithful to one woman. I like Kelly a lot, but she shouldn’t be chasing around this airhead toyboy.”

Kelly and Danny dated for two years from 2008-2010. The break was due to the discovery that he had sent flirty texts to other women. He was close to Jasmine Waltz before they drifted apart to reunite again in 2014. Jasmine thought that she had tamed Danny but in 2015 they called it quits after Danny started avoiding her.
