Daphne Zuniga is an American actress who starred in a number of comedies and TV series. She is also an environmental activist.

Daphne Zuniga was born on 28 October 1962 in San Francisco, CA. She was raised in Berkeley and Reading. Her parents were Agnes A and Joaquin Alberto Zuniga Mazariegos. She is of mixed ethnicity. Her mother has a Polish and Finnish descent and her father is from Guatemala. He was an emeritus professor of philosophy at the California State University, East Bay.
Her mother was a minister and an adventurer who rode a motorcycle from East Coast to West Coast and back, according to Daphne. She has a sister named Jennifer. After her parents divorced when she was 6, she relocated with her mother and sister to Reading in Vermont.
She attended Woodstock Union High School in Woodstock, Vermont. She studied at the American Conservatory Theater and later took up further theater studies at the University of California, LA. Daphne had an interest in acting right from her childhood days.

Daphne started her career with a small role in The Dorm That Dropped Blood in 1982. She bagged a lead role two years later in The Initiation. Recalling that fantastic role, Daphne said:
“I got to play twins: a good sister and an evil sister. I got shot in the back on-screen. It was pretty heavy for a first role.”
In 1985, she was cast in Vision Quest in 1985 and had a lead role in The Sure Thing in the same year. This film received rave reviews. She appeared with Lucille Ball in Stone Pillow in 1985 again. In 1986, she starred in Modern Girls. She also was seen in Spaceballs and later cast in a lead role in the hit horror film called The Fly II in 1988. She also worked in the film Staying Together in 1989 and in 1989’s Gross Anatomy.
Professional Career
She was seen in Fox’s soap opera called Melrose Place as a recurring character from 1992 to 1996. This was the start of her TV career and she hit off with the audience. In 1995, she was also cast in the miniseries Degree of Guilt. Daphne also did some voice actor roles.
In 2005, Daphne portrayed the role of Lynn Kerr in the ABC family series called Beautiful People. She had a recurring role in the TV series called American Dreams and also was cast in One Tree Hill on CW. She also did several TV films during this time.
