Grace Phipps is an actress, singer as well as a dancer. She is popular for starring in Disney channel movies Teen Beach Movie and Teen Beach 2.

Grace Phipps was born on May 4, 1992, in Austin, Texas to Kate and Gil Phipps. She and her younger brother were raised in Boerne and San Antonio in Texas. She learned acting, music, and dancing during her childhood. She had a great interest in acting and hence moved to LA to further her dreams. She soon bagged the role of Spunky Bee in the 2011 movie ‘DreamWorks’.

She also acquired the role of Amy in ‘The Nine lives of Chloe King’ which was basically a fantasy drama series. Her major fame came with the character of April Young in ‘The Vampire Diaries’ (2012-2013).

Grace Phipps’ dating abuse tale

Grace Phipps had suffered a burst eye vessel in August 2016. Instead of hiding the cause of this ‘red-eye’, she had decided to open up to the world about the real reason behind her problem. She revealed on her social media that she was in a relationship with a man who was much older than her in 2015. But the relationship was an abusive one which she separated herself from. She received a text message from this man and that had made her ill. She had retching and severe vomiting and that led to her eye vessel break up and leak. she wrote on her Instagram:

“Yesterday I received a text message from a man dated last summer who was much older than me who ended up being violent with me. He asked me a simple question that made me realize the full extend with which he looked at me as nothing more than meat. This feeling, this sense of seeing myself from the outside, and the idea of treating another person with that little human compassion made me vomit so violently that I burst a blood vessel in my eye. I wore contacts that looked like this to play dead in a movie once. I’d like to think that he couldn’t have that power over me. That no one does.”

Grace Phipps also posted a picture of her face with the redness around the edge of her right eye. She said that she had wanted to hide from the people and media till the eye heals. But she thought that this act of cowardice will not be good. Hence she shared the truth with her fans. She wrote:

“I missed my dear friend’s goodbye party because I was too ill. I didn’t want to let that story get told, but I didn’t want to have to hide too.”

It was indeed a brave action on the part of her to share her story with millions of people and be an example and inspiration for the battered ones.
