School Career

In Los Angeles, California, David enrolled in University High School. Similarly, David was All-Western League Most Valuable Player twice.

In addition, David was on the all-league first team. Further,  Nwaba averaged 22.0 points and 11.5 rebounds per game as a senior in 2010-2011.

College career

David first joined Hawaii Pacific and played in the 2011-12 season. Similarly, Nwaba then transferred to Santa Monica College. Further, In 2012-13, David was Western State Conference South Division Player of the Year.

Again, After averaging 20.5 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game, David was the All-California Community College Athletic Association state first team.

In addition, Nwaba was reassigned to Cal Poly in 2013. And, As a sophomore the following year, David played in all 34 games with 30 jolts and finished sixth among Big West Conference players.

Professional career

Los Angeles D-Fenders

Nwaba graduated from Cal Poly in the spring of 2016 with a sociology degree and moved to Reno, Nevada. Similarly, David relocated in order to try out for the NBA Development League’s Reno Bighorns.

Further, The Bighorns signed him, but David was eventually traded to the Los Angeles D-Fenders. Moreover, David joined the D-Fenders for training camp and finished the opening-night roster.

Los Angeles Lakers

On February 28th, 2017, David signed a 10-day contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. Similarly, David made his NBA debut in a 109-104 defeat to the Charlotte Hornets, playing six minutes of the fourth quarter.

Further, Then David signed a second 10-day deal with the Lakers. Moreover, A day later, Nwaba completed his primary twitch for the Lakers. And, In a 118-116 loss against the Philadelphia 76ers, David scored six points.

Moving on, On March 21st, 2017, the diligent player signed a multi-year contract with the Lakers, and David scored 19 points in a 115-104 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Further, The Lakers released David on July 12th, 2017.

Cleveland Cavaliers

Nwaba participated in the Cleveland Cavaliers Wine & Gold Scrimmage in 2018, and the Cavaliers signed him the following year.

Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets signed David in 2019, but he suffered a season-ending Achilles injury during a game. Sadly, David was released by the Nets on January 3rd, 2020.

Houston Rockets

Again, Nwaba agreed to terms with the Houston Rockets in 2020.
