Draymond Jamal Green Sr. is an American professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association.
Early Life, Family & Education
Draymond Jamal Green, or Draymond Green for short, was born on March 4, 1990, to Wallace Davis and Mary Babers.
He was born in Saginaw, Michigan, in the United States, and has three sisters, LaToya Babers, Jordan Davis, and Gabby Davis, as well as two brothers, Braylon Green and Torrian Harris.
His parents split while he was still a child, and Draymond moved in with his mother. His mother, Mary, is quite close to him. Raymond Green is his stepfather’s name.
Green received his high school diploma from Saginaw High School.

High School & College Career
Draymond Green attended Saginaw High School and was coached by Lou Dawkins. With a 26-1 record, his team won the Class A state title. Green was ranked 36th on the ESPN top 150 lists.
Draymond Green joined Michigan State in 2007 and played 37 games that season, averaging 3.3 points and 3.3 rebounds. After that season, he improved dramatically and was named MSU’s most improved player.
He guided his squad to the Championship championship in 2011/12. Most significantly, he was named four times as a player of the week and was named Big Ten Player of the Year that season.
He graduated as one of just three players in Michigan State history to have more than 1000 points and 1000 assists.

Green averaged 13.6 points per game during the Warriors’ 5-2 start to the season. The Warriors went 16 games undefeated following that, with Green averaging 13.3 points per game.
In-Game 6 of the NBA Finals, he achieved a triple-double, becoming only the sixth player in NBA history to do it.
He won the NBA title and was second in the Most Improved Player and Defensive Player of the Year awards.
Green achieved his third and fourth career triple-double in two consecutive games in November 2015.
After a month, he scored 24 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists, 5 steals, and 5 blocks against the Boston Celtics, extending the Warriors’ winning run to 24-0.
Despite Draymond’s 24 points and 11 rebounds, the Milwaukee Bucks ended the Warriors’ 25-game winning run.
On March 30, he became the first player in NBA history to achieve 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 500 assists, 100 steals, and 100 blocks in a single season. He set a career-high with 37 points in a postseason game against the Trail Blazers.

Second NBA Championship
Green continued to perform at a high level after the start of the new season and was named to the NBA All-Star Game for the second time.
Day-Day became the only player in NBA history to have five blocks and 10 thefts in February. He became the first Warriors player to have 150 steals and 100 blocks in a single season on March 31.
Furthermore, he assisted the Golden State Warriors in winning the 2017 NBA title and became the first team to go 12-0 in the playoffs.
Green became the first Warriors player to earn the NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award at the end of the season.
National Team
Green averaged 8.6 points and 6.0 rebounds for the United States National Team during the 2011 Summer Universiade Men’s Basketball Tournament. Despite Green’s outstanding performance, the United States finished sixth.
Green was a member of the US Olympic squad that won gold in Rio in 2016.

Controversies
During the game, Draymond is frequently punished with fouls. He has previously received an NBA punishment for fouling LA Clippers Blake Griffin, Oklahoma City Thunder’s Steven Adams, Cleveland Cavaliers LeBron James, and his own teammate Kevin Durant.
