Elaine Quijano is an American TV reporter who is a former CNN employee and now works as a correspondent with CBS News.

Elaine Quijano was born to Filipino-American parents in 1975 but her exact date of birth remains unknown. She is 43 years of age and was in Chicago, Illinois. She was raised in Skokie and Morton Grove suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. She has an American nationality and her ethnicity is Filipino-American. The names of her parents and the details of their profession are unknown but she has a sister who is an MIT graduate.

Elaine studied at the University of Illinois which is situated at Urbana-Champaign and earned a degree in journalism from there in the year 1995.

She first did her internship with WCIA-TV in Champaign, Illinois, and later took up the post of a reporter and anchor with them. She left it in 1998 and joined WFTS-TV as a general assignment reporter in Tampa, Florida.

From December 2000, she joined CNN Newsource and was a correspondent for them. She covered the 11 September 2001 terrorist attack for them. She was in Kuwait City before the US invasion of Iraq in 2003. She covered several major events and in 2004 joined CNN/US as a Washington DC-based correspondent on a general level. Here, she covered several important events and in 2006, she became the White House correspondent for CNN.

Time flew very fast for her with her busy schedules and in December 2009, she left CNN to join CBS in the early months of 2010 as a general level correspondent. She was placed in NYC and reported Hurricane Sandy in 2012, the Boston Marathon bombing of 2013, 2014 World Cup, and such events. She also anchors CBSN and other programs of CBS such as Weekend News.

She is called for guest lectures and also moderates debates. She had interviewed the colored supporters of Donald Trump in 2016 and she said:

“We don’t hear from them that often, so we thought it was important,”

She also began to be the moderator for the Vice-Presidential debate in Virginia. She was the First Asian-American and also the youngest to moderate such debates.
