Where is Adele from?

English singer-songwriter Adele is from Tottenham, London, England, the UK. Born on 5 May 1988, her current age is 29 years. She is of mixed descent-English mother and Welsh father. Her mother Penny Adkins raised her alone since her father Marc Evans left the family when Adele was just 2 years old.

Adele loved music and started singing when she was 4. She spent most of her time singing. In 1997, Penny secured a job as a furniture maker and adult-learning activities organizer in Brighton and migrated there. In 2 years’ time, the family was back in London first to Brixton and later to West Norwood.

Adele attended BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in Croydon in May 2006. Adele feels that it was her alma mater that nurtured her talent and made her capable to sing well.

Her early career

In 2006, Adele graduated and 4 months after that she released 2 songs. It was posted on MySpace and was noticed by many. She received a call from the owner of the music label XL Recordings. His name was Richard Russell. Jonathan Dickins became her manager. She began her singing career from here. Her debut albums 19 and 21 were ready and produced by producer Jim Abbiss.

In June 2007, she set foot into the TV world and played a role in Later…With Jools’ Holland. Her breakthrough came in October 2007 with the release of her song titled Hometown glory.

In 2008, she performed an acoustic set with the assistance of Damien Rice. She got awards for it and it was highly appreciated. The album 19 was on British charts on number 1. This album gathered her several nominations and music awards. She began her tours. Billboard magazine is quoted to have told about her:

Her early life crisis

She canceled her 2008 tour to be with a former boyfriend; a decision she later regretted. She told Nylon magazine:

“I’m like, ‘I can’t believe I did that.’ It seems so ungrateful…. I was drinking far too much and that was kind of the basis of my relationship with this boy. I couldn’t bear to be without him, so I was like, ‘Well, I’ll just cancel my stuff then.'”

She was into heavy drinking which stopped after she moved out of her mother’s house and went to reside at Notting Hill, London. In 2009, her album had sold more than 2.2 million copies.

More awards and US performances came her way which again made her get the deserved fame for her songs.

Her second album and worldwide status

In 2011, she released her second album and also gained international fame. She did ‘Adele Live’ tour which was a success. This album and its songs also topped the music charts. She underwent throat microsurgery and did a comeback. She wrote for the James Bond film Skyfall. Her fame spread internationally. She also collaborated with other famous artists for music.

Adele started dating entrepreneur Simon Konecki in the summer of 2011. She gave birth to a son named Angelo on 19 October 2012. There were speculations about the couple getting secretly married and in March 2017, Adele told the audience:
