Chrissy Russo was born on 19 December 1974 in Portsmouth, Virginia, the USA. She was raised in Suffolk, outside the Norfolk-Virginia Beach area. She is of Italian ethnicity with one elder sister. She adored her grandfather and called him ‘Big Joe’. She lived in a huge joint household.
She had a passion for sports during her childhood. Chrissy also learned and mastered the Israeli self-defense called ‘Krav Maga’ and is a great advocate of this martial art. She is level 4 and a green belt in this field. Chrissy Russo did her graduation with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications (1993-1998) from Old Dominion University. She studied Meteorology at Mississippi University from 2003 to 2005.

Chrissy is certified by the American Meteorological Society for Broadcast Meteorology. She started as a beat reporter with the New York Times Regional Media Group in February 1999. She was with this group at Norfolk, Virginia area till February 2001. She later took to co-hosting the Morning show for weather at the Bay City TV Inc. (SanDiego6-CW/XETV) for 6 years from September 2001 to July 2008.
In December 2008, she joined the Fox Channel as a National Correspondent for film, TV, and Sports. She was the host and executive producer of Chrissy Russo Live show at Tribune Media: KSWB Fox 5 San Diego from August 2009 to January 2010.
She was a Feature reporter for Padres, the major league baseball from April 2006 to October 2010. Presently she is with Fox 5 San Diego in the capacity of a traffic anchor and meteorologist. She also has a slot where she tells stories of self-defense.
