Gloria Gaynor: Age, Bio, Parents, Family, Siblings, Childhood, Ethnicity
Gloria Gaynor was born Gloria Fowles on September 7, 1943, in Newark, New Jersey, the USA to father Daniel Fowles and mother Queenie Mae Proctor.
There is still an issue of her date of birth whether it is 1947 or 1949. Her father played the ukulele and guitar and also used to sing professionally in nightclubs with a group called Step ‘n’ Fetchit.
Gloria grew up along with her five brothers who sang gospel and formed a quartet with a friend.
She was not supposed to sing along with other male groups nor was her younger brother Arthur because Gloria was a girl and he was too young.
Her family was financially poor but always filled with laughter and happiness, and the dinner table being open to neighborhood friends.
In 1960, they moved to a housing project and she later acted as a tour manager for Gaynor. Gloria holds American citizenship and her ethnicity is African-American.
Education Details
For education, she graduated from Newark’s Southside High School in 1961.
