Although I play silly parts, in order for others to share in the laughter I think it's important to have a heart that's full of joy and gratitude. Joy is a very holy thing and we can never own it. This gorgeous actress was born on 28 July 1948 in Washington D.C. Her full name was Georgia Bright Engel. Georgia’s parents were Benjamin Franklin Engel and Ruth Caroline. Her father was a coast guard admiral. She had a sister called Robin Ruth Engel. Her sister was Miss Hawaii 1967. Her hometown is Honolulu, Hawaii, the USA.
Georgia Engel attended Kodiak Island Borough School and later Walter Johnson High School. She also was at the Academy of the Washington Ballet from which she graduated. After completing high school, she went to the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Here she obtained her degree after graduation.

Georgia Engel started first by joining a musical production company called American Light Opera Company. In 1964, she debuted on Broadway in ‘Hello Dolly!’ She had to wait till 1972 for her breakthrough role which was that of Georgette Franklin Baxter in the ‘Mary Tyler Moore Show’. Following her success, she got more good roles and also starred in 1980 sitcoms such as ‘Goodtime Girls’ and ‘Jennifer Slept Here’.
She did a recurring role in ‘Coach’ and was also a part of ‘The Cares Bears Movies’. In the latter, she voiced Love-a-lot Bear (1985). Her fame touched the sky when she played ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ as Pat MacDougall.
Her first film role was in Milos Forman’s ‘Taking Off’ followed by ‘Jacques Deray’s ‘The Outside Man’ in 1973. In 1989, she did ‘Signs of Life’, and acted in 1987 in ‘Papa was a preacher’. She also did TV films such as ‘The Day the women got even’ (1980) and ‘The sweetest thing’ (2002). She had also acted in ‘A Love Affair: The Eleanor and Lou Gehrig Story’ in 1978.
She did several TV series, films and also theater. Georgia has also lent her voice to characters in animation movies such as ‘Open Season’ in 2006, ‘Open Season 2’ in 2009, and ‘Open Season 3’ in 2011. She also voiced the ‘Dr. Dolittle 2’ in 2001. Georgia was on the ‘Gotta Dance’ which was at the Bank of America Theater, Chicago from 13 December 2015 to January 2016. Georgia has been in this industry for the last more than 4 decades which is a feat. She continues to win the hearts of her viewers with her great and excellent work.
