“I think now that ASMR community is more popular on the YouTube platform more people are reaching out for a collaboration. Before that people usually walk by our community and go, ‘That’s the weird side. We’re not even going to acknowledge it — close our eyes and keep walking.’ Now people are embracing it and seeing the potential.”

Maria GentleWhispering emigrated from Russia to the USA in 2006 under a student exchange program. She was an aspiring linguistic interpreter at that time. She settled in Maryland and then started her YouTube channel and gained fame through it.
If we look at her birth history, she was born on 22 July 1986 in a small town named Lipetsk in Central Russia. There is no information revealed or known about her parents.
But she does have an older sister whose name is not known. She got to know about the benefits of ASMR in 2009 when she stumbled upon a video called Whisper which gave her relaxation from her emotional turmoil and depression post-divorce.
