Heather Childers is a television news anchor from the US, who currently works at Fox Entertainment Group. This correspondent had neck surgery in July. She was suffering from compression of the spinal cord in the neck and did cervical spinal stenosis with myelopathy.

Heather was born on January 7, 1969, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her birth name is Heather Star Childers. There is no information about her parents and she has a sister.
When she was a teenager i.e., 16 years old, she had a car accident with her Chevrolet Corvair and banged into a tree on Queens Road West. Then she had to do reconstructive facial and oral surgery. Gradually, this was also affecting her health as it was difficult for her to walk, spasticity, muscle weakness, and numbness.
She shared that in April 2018, it was difficult for her to turn her neck and look below while rappelling down a 45-foot wall on assignment at Fort Bragg. She thought it was due to height and dizziness. However, she was unaware of the fact that it was the consequence of the accident which was around a three-decade-old. When she went for the checkup she said,
“The neurosurgeon who first looked at me — the one that ultimately was my surgeon — he showed me that my right foot was dragging as a result of my spinal cord being mashed, basically, and that was what was causing me to trip and fall, so I had debated putting it off until after he finished his radiation treatments … but then the week prior to my surgery, my left foot started dragging, too. So they were right when they said I needed surgery as soon as possible.”
Adding,
“The surgery itself involved three areas of my spine in my neck. The affected discs and bone spurs were removed from an incision in the front of my neck. (The surgeon) then fused together the open spaces between the vertebrae by implanting a bone graft from a bone bank and then secured everything together with a titanium metal plate and screws.”

Heather’s high school was the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Later, she joined the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and cleared in an undergraduate degree in English.
After her graduation, she started her career in 1992, as a Producer/Reporter at WCNC-TV, in Charlotte. In 1995, she switched to WFXL as a weekday anchor and then news director. In the year 1999, she got a good hike at WLOS-TV at ABC affiliate in Asheville, North Carolina.
During the end of 2010, she joined as a general assignment reporter in Fox News Channel. When she was working at Fox, her co-host was Heather Nauert. 49-year-old Childers joined America’s News Headquarters in August 2011 as an anchor.
