Heather Nauert’s career
Heather Nauert is an extremely talented journalist who is currently working as the US State Department’s spokesperson; a post that she highly deserved. She has an excellence is putting things in the right way and perspective. She also has the qualities of persuasion and working under pressure. So how did this all start for this veteran of journalism?
Heather joined in 1996 as a reporter for the syndicated weekly business program named ‘First Business’. She was serving Fox News from 1998 to 2005. Firstly, she was with them as a contributor for 3 years, and later became the correspondent for 4 years. She was a regular contributor to the show ‘The Big Story’.
For two years from 2005 to 2007, Heather was working with various news organizations. She was part of the ABC News and as a general assignment correspondent had contributed towards its programs namely World News Tonight, Good Morning America and Nightline. She had an Emmy nomination while on this job.
Heather also did newscasts and was with Stacy Lacy on Good Day Early Call and Good Day New York Wake Up. In 2007, she came back to Fox News; this time as a co-host with John Gibson on ‘The Big Story’. Heather has also worked on various issues such as health insurance, Social Security, and taxes in the capacity of a government affairs consultant. She had also earned a place in the Council on Foreign Affairs. As per the government announcement on 24 April 2017, she became the new US State Department spokesperson.
On 6 June 2017 was her first press briefing. However, she was the subject of some ridicule by the journalists when she took the help of a thick binder to answer some questions during the 30 minutes session. During the briefing, Heather was seen flipping through a thick binder in order to look for some specific answers. This amused some of the journalists who had gathered there and they put these things on the social media.

Heather Nauert’s early life immediately after birth
Heather was born on 27 January 1970 in Rockford, Illinois, the USA. Her father is Peter and he worked as an executive in the insurance industry. Her mother’s name and details are unknown. She has three siblings; brothers Justin, Jonathan, and Joseph. She has German, Danish, and English roots.
Heather has studied at the Pine Manor College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from Mount Vernon College for Women. She went ahead with further studies and successfully completed her Master’s in Journalism from Columbia University.
Heather Nauert’s personal life
Heather is a married woman. She married Scott Norby in the year 2000. Scott Norby is an investment banker and works at Goldman Sachs. The couple share two children; son Peter born in October 2009 and a second son called Gage who was born in December 2010. Her kids are still schooling and she is a mother who is balancing her professional and personal life well and efficiently.
