His sister Shani Hardwick (born 1982) and brother Malik Hardwick (born 1971) had died young. People and readers thought that the son about whom he had mentioned has died were his and Jennifer’s son. But it came out that he was talking about a son with his previous girlfriend who had died in infancy in November 2007. He had dated his ex-girlfriend for 3 years.
She was an American and German and though Omari’s family embraced her, her own family disowned her. The death of this child early in his life and the separation from his girlfriend had left a deep void in the life of Omari, which has to date not been filled.
