Twelfth of October 2017 was the 10-year anniversary of Wizards of the Waverly Place. On this occasion, the creator of the show Todd Greenwald gave an insight into the back-of-the-camera happenings during this Disney Channel show. He spoke about how the hat song that the fans so much loved in the first season of the show was something that Selena Gomez and Jennifer Stone had contributed to.

They had put their own spin on it. This hat song was actually a song which Selena and Jennifer’s character would start singing when they see a hat. The song lyrics went as follows:

“What’s that? A hat? Crazy, funky, junky hat. Overslept, hair unsightly. Trying to look like Keira Knightley. We’ve been there, we’ve done that, we see right through your funky hat.”

Though bizarre it was quite popular. Todd said:

“It came out of the writers’ room, but where it really came to life was when Jennifer and Selena gave it the dance.”

Selena and Jennifer were not just co-stars they were best friends who loved to act silly and hang out together.

Jennifer Stone’s birth, family, and professional life

Jennifer Stone was born on 12 February 1993 in Arlington, Texas, the USA. Her mother is Christy Stone. Jennifer loved the stage and started acting at the tender age of 6 years. She used to do serious and musical theaters. She used to work at the local Texas productions. She was also featured in TV commercials, TV shows, and films.

She also was cast as Martha in a film called Secondhand Lions made in Texas which also had Michael Caine and Robert Duvall in the main cast. As she grew older, she migrated to Los Angeles.

Talking about her daughter Christy had once said:

“Even when things don’t go her way, she manages to stay positive,” 

Jennifer takes her mom as her role model. She once said:

“My mom always tells me, ‘Be the best you can be, because there’s no one else like you. In a world where so many people try to emulate others to fit in and be accepted, she’s taught me to be an individual.”

While at Los Angeles, she acted and played a number of roles in films and TV series. She did drama as well as comedy genre shows and films. She soon landed her most memorable role till date; that of Harper on Disney Channel called as Wizards of the Waverly Place’. She was portrayed as the lovable, loyal but eccentric best friend of Selena Gomez’s character of Alex Russo. She got a number of other collaborations as well.

She has the trademark auburn red hairs. She acts and also trains people. She is also pursuing her Bachelor of Science course. She also lent her voice to Disney Channel’s movie Dadnapped. In 2010, Jennifer was also portrayed as Harriet in the film Harriet the Spy: Blog Wars. This film was based on a book of the same name. She was also cast in the films Nothing Left to Fear and High School Possession.

From 2004 to 2012 she was nominated four times for the various awards. In 2010, in an interview, Jennifer Stone had once said that she has still not reached success. She told:

“I still haven’t gotten there, dear,”

Since May 2009, Jennifer is said to be dating boyfriend, Daniel Benson. Their relationship is going strong. It is not known when they plan to get engaged and tie the knot.
