Jodie Sweetin is an American actress who began as a child artist and went on to do memorable roles in Full House and later in Fuller House. Her bio reveals her life before fame and her career journey and the problem of substance abuse and she is now a recovering drug addict.

Jodie Sweetin and her life before she entered the entertainment world

Jodie was born on 19 January 1982 in Los Angeles, CA and her present age is 36. Her parents were both in prison and she was taken care of by her Sam Sweetin and his second wife Janice. The couple later adopted her when Jodie was 2. Jodie enjoyed acting and her adoptive parents told her to not tell anyone that she was adopted since they feared that people would think that she was forced by them into acting for money.

But it was Jodie who took to this field and had done a musical when she was in high school. In 1999, she completed her high school graduation from Los Alamitos High School which was located in Los Alamitos, CA. She later joined Chapman University in Orange County, CA.

Jodie talked about her mother and said that she keeps all the old things safely. She explained:

“She keeps everything. We were talking about it the other day — I threw something away, like our passes from Hollywood Horror Nights, and she was like, “Where are they?” I was like, “I threw them out.” She was like, “You are just not the sentimental type.”

Jodie started acting when she was small. In 1987, she procured the role of niece Pamela in the sitcom Valerie. The same year, she bagged the role on Stephanie Tanner in Full House for which she gained fame. She continued to be in this role until 1995. She later reprised the role in Fuller House in 2015.

Jodie and her later acting career

She returned to TV by being the host of the Fuse Show called Pants Off Dance Off. She did some minor roles and appeared in two independent films-Port City and Redefining Love. In 2011, she also started coming in webisodes. She also did a TV series called Singled Out in 2012.

In 2015, she appeared in Fuller House as Stephanie Tanner and in 2017, played an exaggerated version of herself in Hollywood Darlings.

She has also been a contestant on Dancing with the Stars show and was present on it with her dancing partner Kei Motsepe until week 8. She was in the sixth position on the show.

Jodie has been married and divorced thrice. At age 20, she tied the knot with her first husband who used to work in the Los Angeles Police and was named Shaun Holguin. The couple had no children and they took divorce in 2006.

In May 2007, Jodie started dating Cody Herpin, a first transportation coordinator. On 14 July 2007, they got married in Las Vegas. Their daughter Zoie was born in 2008.

They got separated with the divorce completion on 20 April 2010.

In 2009, she began dating again and this time her boyfriend was Morty Coyle. Their daughter Beatrix was born in 2010. In January 2011, the couple was engaged. On 15 March 2012, the couple was married in Beverly Hills. In 2013, they got separated with divorce getting finalized in 2016. She also was engaged to Justin Hodak but split from him.

Jodie tasted alcohol when she was 14. She then took to ecstasy, methamphetamine and such drugs. She had said that she was bored in life and hence took to drugs. In 2009, she wrote her memoir. She ceased them in December 2008. After she became sober, Jodie took up the job of a clinical logistics coordinator at an LA drug rehab center. She also completed her course for drug and alcohol counselor.
