Joe Buck was born to Jack Buck and Carole Lintzenich on April 25, 1969, in  St. Petersburg, Florida, U.S. He has brought up along with two brother (Dan, Jack Buck Jr.) and five sisters (Julie, Christine, Bonnie, Betsy, Beverly) in St. Louis. He is of American nationality but his ethnicity is unknown.

Talking about his education, he was educated from St. Louis Country Day School and later started his broadcasting career as an undergrad at Indiana University Bloomington. Here he completed  B.A. in English and a minor in telecommunications.

Before coming to Fox he has worked as a play by play call for minor league affiliate of the Louisville Redbirds, Cardinals. Later he worked with his dad at CBS and also worked as a reporter with the ESPN.
