Jon Katz is the father of the notable former child actress and now a gorgeous and beautiful actress Tania Raymonde. Jon was an extremely gifted and talented person who also carried a great sense of humor. He was loved by all those he touched and met. He expired at the age of 57 in Los Angeles on 9 February 2010. Jon Katz: birth and childhood

Jon Katz was born in the year 1953 in Enterprise, Ala. The exact date of birth is not known. His full name is Jonathan Franklin Katz. He was the oldest son of Dr. Bertram Katz and Eleanor Hume. His father was from Hubbard. His father was a retired surgeon and the chief of surgery at the former Northside and Southside hospitals. His parents used to reside in Mahoning Valley, Youngstown. He had three other brothers; Nicholas, Jeffry, and Daniel and one sister named Katherine.

He was an American national with Russian-Jewish descent with some Austrian roots. As regards his education, he had first done his graduation from Western Reserve Academy in Hudson. He then joined the Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass. He then moved to Paris and continued his studies at Sorbonne and The Ohio State University. He earned his master’s at The Ohio State University. He then joined The City University of New York where he did his doctoral course in English and American literature.

Jon Katz worked as a senior editor at the Canon Publications for 14 years. He then took over as the Director of Marketing with Brightline which was a manufacturer of an energy-efficient lighting system mainly used for broadcast and video conferencing. He was working here at the time of his death. His writing had helped to solidify the company’s reputation in the international market as an industry leader in the field of lighting.

Jon Katz and his personal life

Jon Katz was married to Annie Marie Feretti who was from France and worked as a real estate agent and urban developer. The couple has one daughter named Tania Raymonde who is a famous actress. Tania’s debut film named Children on their birthdays (2002) was first be seen by the people of her hometown where her grandparents used to reside. She was happy about it and it was Jon Katz who had told her first about it and had come to known on it from the movie’s director. Jon and his wife were ever supportive of their daughter’s career and film roles. They were also brought of her achievements and used to consider her as the light of their life.

Jon Katz and his death

Jon Katz died on 9 February 2010 after a brief illness. His friend Dr. Robert Shorr said:

“We all cherished Jon’s keen sense of humor and vast knowledge, without Jon, the world, and especially our world, is forever less.”

There was a great number of tributes flowing in after his death. One of them named Amy Leaf had this to say about Jon:

 “My father told me about Jon today. I am so terribly sorry. I knew Jon as my camp counselor and to this day, I tell my daughter stories about the great camp counselor I had. Jon was the nicest of people. Such a good person. From what I have read, it appears he touched everyone’s heart with his happiness and kindness. I send my love to his family. You are all in my heart. My deepest sympathies, Amy”
