Jonathan Brandis was born Jonathan Gregory Brandis on November 12, 1976, in Danbury, Connecticut. He was born to his mother Mary Brandis and his father Gregory Brandis. According to Brandis, he was inspired by his father Gregory Brandis, who is of mixed Scottish, English, and German ancestry. His father worked as a firefighter and also worked as a grocer in his spare time. His mother, Mary Brandis is a teacher and personal manager is of Italian and Irish descent.
Death
Sadly, he hanged himself on November 11, 2003, at precisely 23:40 in his apartment in Los Angeles. Paramedics transported his body to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Then on November 12, the young actor is said to have died of injuries at 2:44 p.m.
His motivation for the death is still unknown as there was no suicide note. However, according to some of his close friends and actors, he fell into a depression as a result of his career, exacerbating the bad situation in which he was involved with Hart’s War in 2002 – which he felt would be his redemption – saw a major reduction in the final cut of the film.

An interesting fact is that he began his modeling career at the age of 2, when he worked on a Buster Brown shoe advert. By the age of 4, he had already appeared in television advertisements.
