Lil Wayne receives a call out!

American rapper Lil Wayne gained fame in 1999 when he was part of Hot Boys which released a platinum-selling album ‘Guerrilla Warfare’. Worcester native, Joyner Lucas has recently called out to Lil Wayne, Lil Pump, and Future for being musicians who have been promoting drugs through their music. Joyner has recently released his controversial music video called ‘I’m not racist’.

Joyner adds that he does like the music of these artists but cannot support people who promote drugs. Joyner told Hot 97:

“I’ve never been into artists promoting drugs. When you say those things, you telling the listener to go do the shit. At the end of the day, I don’t promote any artist, I don’t care who the fuck…Wayne…it doesn’t matter who you are. Anytime I hear an artist promoting drugs…even Future with ‘Percocet, molly, Percocet,’ I don’t like that shit.”

He admitted that he has worked with such drug-promoting artists but has now separated his name from them altogether.

Lil Wayne’s Rapping Career and Net Worth

Lil Wayne’s career picked up when he joined the Hot Boys in 1996. The other rappers in this all-boys music group were Juvenile, B.G., and Turk. He was just 15 years at that time. Their debut album ‘Get It How U Live’ was released followed by ‘Guerrilla Warfare’. The latter attained the position of no. 1 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop album list. He was also part of several other singles of this group before it disbanded.

At 17 years, Lil Wayne released his solo album called ‘The Block is Hot’. It came in the 3rd position on Billboards Top 200 list. It was also certified as platinum by RIAA. He was nominated for the Best New Artist award. His single ‘Bling Bling’ was also well-received. His ‘Lights Out’ was relatively less appreciated but still was certified gold by RIAA. This was followed by his third album called 500 Degreez in 2002. He released The Carter in 2004. It was also appreciated by his critics. December 2005 saw the release of Tha Carter II. He became President of ‘Cash Money’ and also founded his own Young Money Entertainment. But he soon withdrew himself from these two labels. He and rapper Birdman also together released Like Father, Like Son album.

In 2006-2007, he made a number of mixtapes and collaborated with several other music artists. His Tha Carter III release was delayed due to leaks and was ultimately released a year later in 2008. Its sale of copies was enormous. He performed at a number of concerts and tours. His Tha Carter IV was released in August 2011 and was most successful. He was to release Carter V soon after but it has been delayed umpteen number of times. Also, several other artists are in their credits and it was also thought to be released in two parts. But it has now been known that it is listed in the assets of fraudster Martin Shkreli and hence the US Government would not take it. What a mishap for Lil Wayne!. He has a net worth of $150 million.
