Angela Simmons’ birth took place in Queens, New York on 18 September 1987. Her father Joseph Simmons, also known as Rev Run is a former rapper and hip-hop music artist who was the main member of the Run-DMC. Angela’s mother is Valerie Vaughan. Her parents got divorced when she was young and her father remarried Justine Simmons.
From her father’s marriage to her mother, Angela has two siblings; elder sister Vanessa and younger brother Joseph Simmons Jr. or Jojo. She has 4 younger paternal siblings; Daniel ‘Diggy’ Simmons III, Russell ‘Russy’ Simmons II, Victoria Anne Simmons, and Miley Justine Simmons. Miley is an adopted child and she was adopted after Victoria’s death early in life due to a birth defect.

In 2007, she also started her footwear line. This was called Pastry Footwear and it was a collaborative project with her sister Vanessa. Her business picked up and took up most of her time. In 2009, she was cast along with her sister in another reality show called Daddy’s Girls.
Angela launched more lines that were dealing with fashion accessories and also opened e-commerce websites. She, along with her business ventures, also appeared in a number of other reality shows. Angela was part of Fashion News Live from 2008-2014, Growing up Hip-Hop in which she was seen in 2016, and The Real in 2016. She promotes her products in her shows as well as online.

This relationship was not liked by fans of both since they were upset about this interracial association. She had a brief romantic fling with the famous Rob Kardashian in 2010.
